Soi became a priest at the Tofukuji Temple when a boy.
Career
Then Soi became chief priest of the Daitokuji Temple at the order of Emperor Gohanazono. Soi was granted a purple robe by the Emperor. Emperor Gohanazono, who was among his followers, accorded him the title of Sokei-Daisho Zenji.
