Clerk for Henry Frank, wholesale dry goods, Natchez, 1884-1888, later traveling salesman for S. E. Worms & Company, New Orleans. Began in banking and other business with J. Weis & Company, New Orleans, 1893. Founded the Central Bank, New Orleans, 1894, consolidating with Whitney Bank, 1895.

Vice president Whitney Central National Bank, and Whitney Central Trust & Savings Bank until 1914. President Whitney Central National Bank, 1914-1916. Member J. S. Bache & Company, bankers and brokers, New York City, January since 1916.
