Dresser, Solomon Robert was born on February 1, 1842 in Litchfield, Michigan, United States. Son of Parker and Lydia (Cronkhite) Dresser.

Career

Engaged in manufacturing. Took out his 1st patent, 1880, and developed a large business. Among his inventions are a packer for natural gas and oil wells, a rubber coupling to make a tight joint in natural gas pipes, and an insulating coupling to prevent leakage of electricity from conduits.
