Soma Sukeji

Background

Soma Sukeji was born in 1911 in Tochigi, Japan.

Education

After Tochigi Normal School Soma also studied at grade schools, girls' high schools and middle schools.

Career

Soma began his career as executive committee chairman of the Tochigi Prefectural Teachers' Union and vice president of the Tochigi Prefectural School Board. He was returned to the House of Councilors in the 1947 general elections, and re-elected in the 1950 elections. He concurrently was managing director of Tochigi Prefectural Cultural Promotion Association.
