Soma Taketane Edit Profile
Soma Taketane was a Japanese government official. He endeavored to popularize gagaku (ancient Court music) and held a public performance of gagaku at the Hibiya Music Hall.
Career
Soma became an official of the Imperial Household Ministry upon graduation from the university. Later he was appointed director of a section in the Board of Ceremonies and then chief of Music Department of the Imperial Household Ministry. In 1919 Soma succeeded his father as a peer.
