Career
The 1st generation of the Yokoya family was a subcontractor to the Goto family. Somin Yokoya was the 3rd generation. Originally named Tomotsune, he branched out from the Goto style of his ancestors and originated his own style. His works were realistic, elegant and elaborate. He specialized in carving hons, tigers and horses.
