He was born in Seoul, South of Korea, studied Korean Literature and graduated from Kookmin University in 1982.
He is now a radio announcer, a professor at Sungshin Women"s University and the president of JTBC"s news reporting division. He is considered one of the most influential figures in South Korean media. Sohn went to the United States in 1997 to enroll in the graduate school of the University of Minnesota, majoring in Journalism.
After getting his master"s degree, he returned to MBC as a vice chairman of department of announcer.
He is well known for his career as an MBC announcer and presenter. He had preserved his position as a host of 100-Minute Debate for 12 years, which is one of the most popular television debate programs.
On May 9, 2013, Sohn Suk-hee was named the new president of JTBC’s news reporting department. And he said that officially, “I know there is opposition to my choice.
But I hope people can wait for me to carry out what I have been contemplating about true journalism.
