He threw a no-hitter on June 10, 1966 against the Washington Senators. He was originally drafted simultaneously by the Cleveland Indians and the Saint Louis Hawks of the National Basketball Association. He was selected to the Chemical Warfare Service All Tournament Team that year. Originally an outfielder, Siebert related that the Indians had a scout following him during his college days.
