He graduated from Tokyo University Law School in 1920.
He became an official of the Railway Ministry. Served 30 years in same ministry. Because he was Railway Vice-Minister during the war, he was purged from public office after the war. Depurged, he was appointed presi-dent of the Japan Railway Corporation in 1951,succeeding Yukio Kagayama. Resigned the post in 1955.
