Sotaro Suzuki was born in Gumma Prefecture, Japan.
He went to the United States where he studied professional baseball.
Originally was a merchant in Yokohama. After professional baseball was introduced in Japan, he wrote articles on baseball for the Yomiuri Shimbun (newspaper). Sotaro Suzuki wrote many books on baseball. Then he became vice-president of the Japan Baseball Association and adviser of the Central League (1950).
