Quotations:
Spencer Wright Earnshaw commented: "A fellow musician motivated me to write The Essence of Rhythm, pointing out that not all musicians saw rhythm in the mathematical/modular way I do. He suggested that I share my observations and theories on rhythm via a book."
"My writing approach is to put new ideas down to any form, then later to modify, expand, and ‘fine- tune’ them, striving for simplicity, clarity, and consistency. In general, I try to empower musicians with rhythmic concepts and techniques that they can apply to their own playing, teaching, practicing, and composing, and also to provide key rhythmic studies for visual reference."
Spencer Earnshaw married Bronwen Tarmar (a teacher) on May 16, 1982. Mr. Earnshaw has two children: (previous marriage) Taber, Gwendollyn.
