The Lloyd family were of a prestigious social background dating to the time of William Penn in Philadelphia. Stacy Barcroft Lloyd, Senior was a banker, the President of the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society. Lloyd"s first marriage was November 25, 1932 to Rachel Lowe Lambert.
They divorced in 1948.
She got re-married to Paul Mellon, and he to Alice Babcock. With Alice Babcock he had a son Robin Lloyd, a writer and journalist who was an announcer for National Broadcasting Company. Foreign many years he was one of the largest landowners on Saint Croix in the United States Virgin Islands.
He owned a dairy farm and raised beef cattle. He also owned and operated the local dairy bottling plant.
During the later part of his life Lloyd resided in Berryville, Virginia and Southwest Harbor, Maine.
He died in Berryville, Virginia in December 1994.
