Studied at Philosophy Faculty, L’vov University. 1924 graduate Philosophy Faculty, Prague University.
1915-1917 acted with Ukraine Ternopol’ Theatrical Evenings company 1918 co-founder, New L’vov Theater. 1920 Franko Theater founded in Vinnitsa from this co and from a group of actors from Young Theater.
1921-1923 worked for Russian Conversation Social’s Ukraine Theater, L’vov. 1924 moved to Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics; 1924-1933 actor, Bcrezil’ Theater. 1933-1952 actor and artistic director, Shevchenko Theater, Khar’kov.
From 1952 actor and stage director, 1954-1961 chief stage director, Franko Theater. One of first actors to portray Lenin in Ukraine. From 1926 also film work.
From 1932 taught stagecraft. 1946-1952 taught at Khar’kov Theater Institute. From 1952 at Kiev Institute of Stagecraft.
