Studied at Cathedral School, Worcester. Was for some years in the provinces, editing papers at Sheffield, Nottingham, and Southampton.
Then came to London in early days of the Harmsworths, and for some years was one of their principal editors, writing over a dozen of their most popular serial stories. Crossed over to Ward, Lock, & Company, and started the Windsor Mag. for them, this lie edited for some 12 months. Wrote two handbooks for them on Games and Pets.
Returned to the Harmsworths and the Daily Mail, and from thence went to the Daily Express, where he acted as literary editor. Was for some years Literary Adviser to the Society of Women Journalists. Formerly descriptive writer and reviewer of fiction on The Standard, which he represented for a time in New York. Late Editor Cassells' Magazine.
