Shoemaker; 1912 joined SocDemocralic Party of Kingdom of Poland and Lith (SDKP&rL). 1913 elected member, Warsaw Committee of this Party. 1915 arrested; November 1916 released on bail.
March 1917 joined the Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) together with a group of SDKP&L members which he organized: attended April RSI)RP(B) Conference. Member, Bolshevik Faction, Moscow Soviet. During 1917 October Revol member, Moscow Military-Revol Committee.
December 1917 returned to Poland. Member, Main Board and Warsaw Committee, SDKP&rL. December 1918 attended Amalgamative Congress, which founded the Communist Workers’ Party of Poland (from 1925 - Communist Party Poland).
1919 arrested; April 1920, after exchange of political prisoners, returned to Russian. 1920, during the Soviet-Polish War, at the Western Front. Helped edit various front.
