1923 graduate Petrograd Military Medical Academy.
1923-1933 trained in surgery at various military hospitals. 1933-1937 posted to Kirov Military Medical Academy, Leningrad, where he did research on field surgery and wrote doctor’s thesis on wound shock. 1937 posted to Far East, where he was in charge of troop surgery and taught surgery on advanced training courses for military physicians.
1939-1940 chief surgeon of an army on the Finnish Front. 1940-1941 head, Chair of Field Surgery, Kuybyshev Military Academy. During World War 2 surgeon on the Western and Belorussian Fronts.
After World War 2 Lith Minister of Health, then head, Chair of Field Surgery, Kirov Military Medical Academy, Leningrad. Company-ed, Opyt sovetskoy meditsiny v Velikoy Otechestvennoy voyne (The Experience of Soviet Medicine in the Great Fatherland War). Wrote over 100 works, mostly on field surgery.
Specialized in wound shock and its treatment in the case of gunshot wounds. Also in first-aid treatment of head wounds and gunshot fractures of the thigh.
