Stefan Engels

Education

Stefan Engels studied at the Musikhochschulen in Aachen, Düsseldorf, and Kölane From 1993 to 1998, he studied with Robert Anderson and Wolfgang Rübsam.

Career

From 1999 to 2005, he was Associate Professor of Organ at Westminster Choir College. Since 2005, he has taught at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig, Germany. Currently he is involved in an ambitious project to record the complete organ works of Sigfrid Karg-Elert, making him the first person to do southern

Achievements

• In 1998, he won the "Concerto Gold Medal" at the Calgary International Organ Competition, an event which helped earn him significant name recognition in the organ world.
