Danilov, Stepan was born on January 6, 1889.


Graduated from Petersburg University, 1914.


Professor; Doctor of Chemical Science. Corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1943. Full member, Academy, of Artillery Science, since 1947.

Professor, Leningrad Technology Institute, since 1930. Director, laboratory, Institute of High-Molecular Compounds, USSR Academy of Science, Leningrad. Editor, journal “Obshchaya khimiya” (General Chemistry), since 1946.

Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. 1915-1930 teacher, then Professor, Petrograd, now Leningrad University. Specialist on high-molecular compounds.

Basic works deal with hydroxyaldehyde and oxyketones.


Religion obstructs scientific research and technological progress.


Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
