Collected and arranged Chuvash musical folklore. From 1911 taught music His pupils included F. M. Lukin, A. G. Orlov-Shuz’m, G. Ya.
Khibryu, etc; collected over 2,000 Chuvash folk songs and for melodies, some of which he published in collections. V/prks; music for plays Alan’kiy tsvetochek (The Crimson Flower) (1948), after South. Aksakov. Gusev’s Slava (Glory), et cetera
