Lieutenant, Russian Army. During 1917 October Revol commanded Red Guard squad in Ccntr Siberia. December 1917, together with S. G. Lazo, directed suppression of anti-Soviet revolt in Irkutsk.
Then served on staff, Transbaykal Front. From 1918 underground work. Arrested; February 1920 liberated in Blagoveshchensk by revol forces.
Helped organize People’s Revol Army of Far Eastern Republic. 1920-1922 member, Amur Revol Committee. Commander, Amur Oblast Forces.
August 1920—March 1921 commander, Amur Front. March—December 1921 commander, 2nd Amur Army. December 1921—March 1922 commander.
Eastern Front, Far Eastern Republic. Member, Revol Military Council, People’s Revol Army, Far Eastern Republic. 1923-1924 div commander.
1924-1926 assl corps commander. 1926-1927 military attache in Japan. From October 1927 manager.
