YAREMICH, Stepan was born on August 3, 1869 in village Galayki, now Kiev Oblast.
Studied at North.I. Murashko’s Art School, Kiev.
Spent several years abroad, mainly in Paris, where he was strongly influenced by Impressionism. Contributed to journal “Mir iskusstva”, et cetera Leading specialist on West European painting.
Made major contribution to organization of Russian art training. In 1930's in charge of restoration work at the Hermitage Museum. His paintings and water colors are displayed at the Tret’yakov Gallery, the Shevchenko Museum in Kiev and the Arm State Museum, Yerevan.
Wrote studies of the work of M. Vrubel’, V. Serov and articles about Ukraine art
