(From meeting a 17 foot great white shark face to face, to...)
From meeting a 17 foot great white shark face to face, to diving from an airplane toward the earth's surface at 120 MPH, to exploring a sunker battle cruiser from WWII in the dark depths of the South Pacific Ocean, author and adventure Stephen Arrington retells many exciting tales from his life as a navy frogman and chief diver for the Cousteau Society. Each story is laced with Arrington's Christian belief and outlook that life is an adventure waiting to be had. Arrington warns today's youth against such luring deterrents as alcohol, drugs, and the like, which can only keep you from experiencing each moment so rich with possibilities for adventure. He reflects on himself as a youth and the dreams he dreamed, which did come true once he put his life in God's hands, and allowed His will to be his guide.

(This is a book about, “Hope that never surrenders.” I fel...)
This is a book about, “Hope that never surrenders.” I fell a long way when I went to prison. In a jail cell, I made a commitment of faith for the rest of my life only to do good as best I could. In 2017, I received a full and unconditional pardon from President Barrack Obama for my work as motivational and drug education speaker for youth and have done over 3,300 public school assemblies. In 2018, my book won two major awards, “Finalist at the Beverly Hills International Book Awards, and an Amazon Readers’ Favorite 5-Star Medallion. The message this work shares is life-changing, proof is in the reviews. This is an illustrated book with many images that help tell the true story of the John Z. DeLorean drug trial that ruled the headlines of newspapers worldwide. The case commanded the attention of the highest levels of the FBI, DEA, CIA, IRS, DOJ, Interpol, Number 10 Downing Street, and the White House. Arrington has the FBI Investigative Reports, the transcripts of the FBI's secret tapes, FBI court exhibits, and the investigative reports from the Law Firm that DeLorean hired. I know the things that the jury never heard, and what the Federal Agents tried to hide and cover up because I am the last surviving defendant. The case involved Pablo Escobar the ruthless leader of the Medellin Drug Cartel, his #1 hitman, Rafael Salazar, “AKA Rafa, and Max Mermelstein who smuggled 56 tons of cocaine into the United States—and sent over $300,000,000 back down to Medellin. The defendants were John Z. DeLorean, one of the most admired men in American business —an eccentric auto builder of revolutionary proportions who squired and married one of Hollywood’s most beautiful actresses and she was the #1 supermodel in the world. The case was an international media blitz. My other co-defendant was Morgan Hetrick, a Texas Maverick who claimed to be the #1 cocaine smuggler on the West Coast, and then there was me; Stephen L. Arrington, Vietnam veteran, USN bomb disposal frogman, pilot, and author of this book. Warning: this is a fully documented, true story written in the intensity of the moment. It contains real depictions of the criminal underworld and of life inside prison walls. This story may be disconcerting to some, yet is necessary to convey the magnitude of where choices can lead those who would dance the criminal waltz. Prepare to take an incredible journey into darkness, to learn the incredible value of a spiritual commitment, and eventually to come out the other side, as a childhood dream morphs into an ex-felon's reality. This is a true story where hope never surrenders.

(Mojave Desert, 1984—During a training event, the Town of ...)
Mojave Desert, 1984—During a training event, the Town of Boron volunteers accidentally burn down their firehouse with the fire engine inside. It falls on inmates from the nearby prison camp to protect the small desert community. But first, the convicts have to get a 1941 American LaFrance fire engine operational. It has sat in storage for over 20 years. Being honor inmates, they make a commitment to only steal the parts they need from government vehicles. Donning vintage firefighter turnouts from World War II, they soon realize that the uniforms demand that they become men of purpose. Can a ragtag gang of inmates actually become lifesaving heroes? Join them as they leave the prison camp on their first emergency response. It has all the excitement of a prison escape with the fire engine’s siren wailing and the most amazing female prison guard-riding shotgun. The adventure builds with each emergency response, but then they discover that the old desert fire house has hidden rooms and a mystery from when it was a top secret Air Force Base in the 1950’s. An old table has a carving that reads, “Area 51 ½.” I wrote this story originally as a screenplay in 1992. It was represented by the agent for Terry Bradshaw, the famous quarterback who played for the NFL, was a hall of famer and starred in numerous movies. My daughter kept pestering me to turn it into a book, so I did, but it still wants to be a movie. So, as you read this work, imagine it as a movie and maybe, one day, you and I will get to see it on the silver screen together.
