Career
He led the team in Wheelchair rugby at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Brown broke his neck in a fall from a balcony in Cologne in 2005. While rehabilitating at Stoke Mandeville Hospital he watched a wheelchair rugby match and was inspired to take up the sport.
Following wins at the British National Championships in 2006 and the IWRF European Championships in 2007, Brown narrowly missed selection for the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games - but was honoured to lead the Olympic and Paralympic Parade of the Heroes through London on the team’s return.
Brown is one of the most recognised faces in the sport, having featured in numerous television broadcasts including Channel 4’s ‘Inside Incredible Athletes’. He is a Sky Sports Scholar and a Sky Sports "Living for Sport" mentor.
Brown is a roving reporter for Sky Sports Game Changers tv show. Brown joined the Independent Television team for the live broadcast of the British Telecom World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge (WWRC).
Steve co presented from the courtside studio as a pundit alongside Martin Bayfield, the former England and British Lions player.
The event was held in October 2015 at the Copper Box Arena on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
