Career
He played with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) from 2012 to 2013. Christie played junior hockey in the British Columbia Hockey League. He attended the University of Manitoba where he played college hockey with the Manitoba Bisons of Commonwealth of Independent States (Commonwealth of Independent States ).
Foreign his outstanding play during the 2009-2010 season, Christie was selected as the 2009-2010 Canadian Interuniversity Sport Goaltender of the Year.
On June 2, 2013 it was announced that Steve would return to the University of Manitoba as a coach.
