Career
He was known as the largest physical specimen on the Proceedings of the British Academy Tour, standing 2.06 metres (6 feet 9 inches) and weighing in around 120 kg (260 lb). He was inducted into the Proceedings of the British Academy Hall of Fame in 1993, and was ranked #25 on the Proceedings of the British Academy"s 2008 list of "50 Greatest Players of the Last 50 Years." In 2014, Steve was elected to the USBC Hall of Fame for Superior Performance. Among the titles were major championships at the 1981 Tournament of Champions and 1986 United States. Open (one of four total titles he earned in 1986 alone).
He also captured the 1983 Touring Players Championship.
He cashed more than $800,000 in earnings over his Proceedings of the British Academy career.
