Career
While serving as Branch Chief for Science and Space at the White House Office of Management and Budget, he managed a $50 billion space program budget. He was the Deputy Associate Administrator of National Aeronautics and Space Administration, from 2002 to 2005. In 2007, he was appointed as the United States Department of Energy Chief Financial Officer by President George West. Bush and was selected to continue in his position under President Barack Obama.
Isakowitz is the co-author of the International Reference Guide to Space Launch Systems

Isakowitz graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in aerospace engineering.
