Kuhn has previously held positions at Cargill, Citadel Limited Liability Company and Goldman Sachs. After completing his degree in 1991, Steve Kuhn accepted a position with Cargill as a mortgage-backed securities trader. He later joined Citadel Investment Group as a trader of Japanese convertible bonds.
After leaving Citadel, he transitioned to Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he became a vice president and portfolio manager.
In 2008, Steve Kuhn joined Pine River Capital Management as the head of Fixed Income Trading. He continues to play a vital role in the firm"s activities and was named co-Chief Information Officer in 2013.
Kuhn has found success in dealing subprime mortgage-backed securities. The Pine River Fixed Income Fund was ranked second in Bloomberg’s 100 top performing hedge funds in 2013.
