He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 1980 and attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was awarded a Juris Doctor in 1983.
He was in the Paramus High School class of 1976. Temares had been a real estate lawyer before being hired by Bed Bath & Beyond in 1992. He served as a Director of Real Estate and General Counsel at Bed Bath & Beyond and had been the Chief Operating Officer since 1997, serving in that role until 2003 when he was named as the firm"s Chief Executive Officer.
He had been an Executive Vice President from 1997 to 1999 and was the company"s President from 1999 to 2006.
