He holds a Canada Research Chair in mathematics at the University of Toronto, and a Directeur de Recherche position at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (National Center for Scientific Research) in Paris. He is a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and is the winner of the 2012 Communications Resource Management-Fields-PIMS prize in mathematical sciences, and of the 2013 Shoenfield prize. One of his Doctor of Philosophy students, Ilijas Farah won 1997 Sacks Prize for his Doctor of Philosophy, The Doctor of Philosophy was received on June, 1997, at the University of Toronto.
