Pollak is a graduate of Stanford University (Bachelor of Arts 1959 with Great Honors) and Harvard Law School (Bachelor of Laws 1962 Magna Cum Laude).
Pollak is a graduate of Stanford University (Bachelor of Arts 1959 with Great Honors) and Harvard Law School (Bachelor of Laws 1962 Magna Cum Laude).
He served as a clerk for Chief Justice Earl Warren from 1962–1963 before working for the United States Department of Justice, Criminal Division, from 1963–1965. In 1964, he served as a staff member on the President"s Commission on the Assassination of John F Kennedy, unofficially known as the Warren Commission. In 1982 Pollak was appointed to the California Superior Court in San Francisco.
After 20 years as a trial judge, in 2002 Pollak was appointed to the California Court of Appeal in the First Appellate District by then-Governor Gray Davis.
He was later retained by voters on November 5, 2002 with over 630,000 votes or 73% of the electorate. His current term expires on January 6, 2015.
