Education
Suizan Umemura studied the art of engraving under Kahei Kimura.
Career
Suizan Umemura founded Keigan-do, copper engraving company in Tokyo (1871) and together with Atsutomo Matsuda began printing bank notes for the government. Later with the aid of two foreigners founded a lithographic print shop.
