Career
Sung holds a chemical engineering degree from Yonsei University. Upon graduation, he worked for three years in the trading department of Samsung Corporation. Afterwards, he received an Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
After returning to of Korea in 1996, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company and Accenture.
He was hired by Yahoo! of Korea in December 2004. He served as chief operating officer before getting promoted to Chief Executive Officer in October 2005.
He resigned in May of 2007, citing disagreement between him and the company"s United States. headquarters over the Korean branch"s operations.
