Woo came to the United States in 1981, when he was ten years old. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Cornell University in 1994 and received his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from New York University in 2006. Woo currently lives in Washington Township, Warren County, New Jersey.
