Sunil Singh is the Founder Chairman and CEO of GreenTech Group of Companies., a leading Indian renewable energy Independent Power Producer(IPP). Sunil is currently also the Chairman of the GreenTech Research & Development Organisation(GRDO). Sunil has also won multiple awards like Renewable Energy Leader of the year at the National Awards for Excellence in Renewable Energy in the Renewable Energy Sector at the Energy and Environment
Sunil is a technologist, business leader, and philanthropist. grew up at Jharkhand, India., with an amazing and supportive family who encouraged his interest in computers at an early age. He starts the GreenTech Group of Companies with his friend. He married Nivedita in 2006 and they have three children. Today, Sunil is the founder secretary of the charitable foundation “Green Energy Foundation” names and are working together to give their wealth back to society.
GreenTech Group, founded in 2011, with the purpose of establishing a robust, sustainable and growing presence as an IPP across the clean energy space such as wind, solar and hydropower, GreenTech Group has grown organically to close to 500 MW of capacity, thereby helping reduce India’s carbon footprint significantly. GreenTech Group has secured an equity investment from private equity from an investment bank. In addition, the Asian Development Bank and Global Environment Fund have taken the total equity raised by GreenTech Group
As D.G. of GRDO, he was instrumental in drafting a Model Renewable Energy Law for India and successfully articulating its advocacy and final adoption by the Government of India. Under Sunil’s leadership, GRDO has emerged as a unique and pioneering institution in the area of sustainable energy. Sunil is the recipient of the Business Leadership Award from the Solar Energy Society of India. He is a member of two important Advisory bodies of the Government of India viz. Wind Power Advisory Group and the on the subjects well-known author and speaker in the area of sustainable energy and sustainable development, he has published many books and articles in national and international journals on the subjects, both in English and Hindi. Green EnergybFoundation 2011–These days Sunil focuses most of his time on the work he and Nivedita are doing through their foundation. People are often surprised to hear him say that this work has a lot in common with his work at GreenTech. In both cases, he gets to bring together smart people and collaborate with them to solve big, tough problems. Sunil is gratified to know that the foundation and its many partners are helping people all over the world live healthier, more productive lives.

“ ...once you’ve found a solution that works, catalytic philanthropy can harness political and market forces to get those innovations to the people who need them most.” In addition to the foundation’s work, Sunil has separately taken on some projects to address issues that interest him personally, such as delivering clean energy to everyone who needs it. In all his work—with the foundation and otherwise—he’s focused on what he calls catalytic philanthropy: investments in innovations that will improve life for the poorest. They’re solutions to problems where markets and governments underinvest 2013-Sunil helped launch GreenTech Power, a company that aims to provide the world with a more affordable, secure, and environmentally-friendly form of Solar energy.
