Singh studied at the St. Columbus School, Delhi, and later graduated from the University of Mumbai with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
In 2007 Singh made his television debut through the Star Plus-popular running series Kasautii Zindagii Kay, where he played the love interest of the character played by Kratika Sengar. In 2009, he played Karan in Shakuntala. In 2011 he began his film career with Madhur Bhandarkar's comedy Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, where he appeared in a cameo appearance. Starring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, and Omi Vaidya, it performed poorly at the box office. In 2015, Singh reteamed with Ranjan for Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, a sequel to the 2011 film Pyaar Ka Punchnama and co-starring Aaryan, Bharucha, Omkar Kapoor, and Sonnalli Seygall. His highest-grossing release came in 2018 when he teamed with Ranjan for the third time in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety co-starring Aaryan and Bharucha. He played the role of Titu, a man whose friend, played by Aaryan, tries to separate him from his fiancée, played by Bharucha.
In 2019, Nijar had a cameo appearance in Akiv Ali's directorial debut, De De Pyaar De, a romantic comedy film about a 50-year-old businessman who falls in love with a 26-year-old girl and starring Devgn opposite Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu. He was also in Jhootha Kahin Ka alongside Kapoor and Jimmy Sheirgill. Singh will also appear in Jai Mummy Di, a romantic comedy starring Sonnalli Seygall, Supriya Pathak, and Poonam Dillon, directed by Navjot Gulati. The film is scheduled to be released on January 17, 2020.
