He was educated at Kendriya Vidyalaya Number 1 School in Kozhikode.

He started learning music at the age of 5 and performing with amateur bands since the age of 7. By the age of 14, he was into the world of professional music Sunny learned seven instruments of which Tabla remains his favorite.
He has performed with local and international bands worldwide.
Sunny composed music for three films. 1. Kshatriyan 2. Sthithi and 3.
Israa for which he introduced for the first time international singers Anneli Rydahl from Sweden and Australian singer Seraya. He has also done music for two albums 1.Janmangalai 2.malayali penne 3.
Worked with Serena Kern (UK) doing the musical arrangements for her songs Lullaby and Better to have loved
He has also featured actors like Suresh Gopi, Divya Palat and Lena.
Sunny has associated with lyricists Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, Shibu Chakravarthy, Khanesh Punoor et cetera Sunny worked with Magnasound for close to 6 years as an A&R and later as Product Manager. Also as a Consultant A&R with Bayshore Records (2 years).
During his tenure, he has produced more than 50 titles.
As a journalist, he has written columns on Mathrubhumi for its Film publication Chithrabhumi for 5 years and also as a Bureau chief of Southern Side Magazine. As an event Manager and an artist co-ordinator, he has done many events in India, United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, rest of Europe, Malaysia and Australia.
Apart from that Sunny has featured various International singers like Zenya Bashford (United States), Samantha Coe (United Kingdom),Felicitas Geiger(Germany) Jemimah G (Australia), Keren Portuguese (Israel), Iselin B (Norway), Heidi Jarvis (United States), Violet Won (China), Khalida Saud (Pak) and also Indian playback singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Vasundhara Das, Sunita Rao, Jonita Gandhi Neha Bhasin, Srinivas, Rahul Seth, Kavitha Paudwal, Sagarika, Sneha Pant, Pia Sukanya, Zublee Baruah, Priyadarsini, Devan Ekambaram, Divya Vijay, Manjari Babu, Gayathri, Afsal, Ranjini Jose, Jyotsna, Delsy Ninan, Sunita Sudheer, Sainoj, Sharmi Louisiana, Sunil Kumar, Ajith et cetera
