Tata Consultancy Services is currently (June 2015) the second most valuable Information Technology services company in the world by market-cap. According to the Tata Consultancy Services results for the Financial Year 2014-2015, Tata Consultancy Services North America contributed over half (53%) of the total Tata Consultancy Services revenues.

In his career, spanning over 30 years to date, Sury has made a significant contribution to the Indian and Global software industry. He established the presence of Indian software industry in Japan, in 1987.
In the 1990s, he was appointed the head of operations for the United Kingdom (United Kingdom) where he recorded substantial increase in visibility and business for the organization, and the Indian software industry. Until 2005, he served as the Head of Operations, for the India Northern Region of Tata Consultancy Services. Sury has traveled widely and worked all over the world, such as in the United States., New Zealand, Japan, the United Kingdom and India.
He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and academic institutions.
He is actively connected with various social causes, one of them being the Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer in the United States. He is prominently associated with the Science Technology Engineering And Mathematics promotion in the United States, driving it personally through the Tata Consultancy Services goIT program, the US2020 initiative, and the Million Women Mentor (MWM) initiative. Sury received his master"s in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Computer Technology from Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), Delhi, and his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics from Delhi College of Engineering, both at the top of his class. He was recognized for his "Contribution to National Development" by the IIT Delhi Alumni Association in 2004.
He was announced as one of "The 2011 Top 25K Consultants" by the Consulting Magazine.
In 2014, Sury was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus by DCE-Technical University of Denmark Alumni Association. He was recognized with "Leadership and Service in Technology Award" by the Seidenberg School of computer Science and Information Systems at Pace University, New York in June 2015.
