Her fashion career at Glamour began in 1996. The New York Times has referred to her as a “ fairy godmother” for her makeover abilities. She has been featured in articles in The New York Times and the Associated Press and appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Columbia Broadcasting System"s The Early Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show and Cable News Network. Yalof Schwartz has been an expert voice in the media for fashion and red carpet trends, Glamour’s trademark style Dos and Don’ts, and beauty and fashion makeovers that appear in online and print versions of the magazine and on air.

Yalof Schwartz is the co-creator of the beauty line, Makeover To Go. She is also the author of the book Getting Over John Doe: A Story of Love, Heartache, and Surviving With Style and the creator of the interior design blog Dwellers without Decorators. Mississippi Yalof Schwartz was born in New York City and raised in Livingston, New Jersey.
She is the daughter of Herbert Yalof, former President and Chief Operating Officer of Macy’s North East.
Her mother, Ina Yalof is a writer who has published 14 books Yalof Schwartz’s career in fashion began assisting American fashion designer Patrick Kelly during his work in Paris from 1987–1988.
In 1989 and 1990 she assisted the director of publicity for Giorgio Armani. Later in 1990 she became an Associate Accessories Editor for Vogue.
In 1993 she became Senior Accessories Editor for Elle magazine.
A year later she moved to Marie Claire magazine in the same position. Schwartz joined Glamour Magazine in 1996 as a fashion editors In 1999 she became Executive Fashion Editor.
In 2001 she became Executive Fashion Editor at Large.
As a fashion representative for Glamour in the media, Schwartz has been a featured guest during countless segments for national television programs including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The View, Columbia Broadcasting System"s The Early Show, Live with Regis & Kelly, Access Hollywood, and Full Frontal Fashion. She has participated in many nationwide video satellite tours and appeared on syndicated radio programs in the United States., England, and Canada.
In 2010 Mississippi Yalof Schwartz left Glamour Magazine to move to Los Angeles, California for her husband"s career.
Schwartz joined Lord & Taylor from 2011-2012 as the fashion editor-at-large, during which she wrote, produced and appeared in the company"s Taxi television Commercials. In November of 2012, Yalof Schwartz came up with the idea of opening a studio concept devoted exclusively to meditation.
Unplug Meditation was designed with making meditation effortless, affordable, accessible, modern and secular. Unplug Meditation opened April 14th 2014 in Los Angeles, California.
