He has a background in technology and management and is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. At the age of 23 Mukundananda changed his plans for a corporate career and took up sannyasa (renounced order). He travelled around India to gather spiritual knowledge.
Mukundananda traveled around the world to disseminate the philosophy and knowledge of the Vedas, following the wishes of his spiritual master, Kripalu Maharaj.
His travels to different countries include the United States,Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Trinidad and Europe. In the United States, Mukundananda has lectured in fortune 500 companies and also at universities, including Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Duke University, Princeton University, Stanford University and Kellogg School of Management.
His lectures encompass the teachings of the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavata Purana, Puranas, Bhagavad Geeta, Ramayan, other Eastern scriptures, and Western philosophies. He has also instituted Jagadguru Kripalu Yog Trust, India.
Mukundananda’s programs are broadcast daily on 4 channels: Disha television, television Asia, Sanatan Channel, and Independent Television. Spiritual topics are discussed using references and quotations from Vedic and other religious scriptures.
