Sydney Cauveren

Background

Sydney Cauveren was born on October 3, 1947, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is the son of Freddy Theodor and Johanna (van der Helm) Cauveren. In 1959 he immigrated to Australia.

Education

From 1976 to 1977 Sydney Cauveren attended English Literature Institute in London. He also studied at the University of Sydney.

Career

Sydney Cauveren began his career in 1969 in Qantas airline as a senior crew member. He worked there till 1990, becoming a freelance writer and researcher that year. Cauveren is also a contributor of articles and reviews to journals and newspapers, including Manuscripts, Pen and Quill, Biblio, Australian Antique Collector, Australian, and Adelaide Review.

In 2000 Sydney published his book A. L. Rowse: A Bibliophile's Extensive Bibliography.
