Syed Farooq Akber, American Medical physicist. Achievements include development of a totally noninvasive technique to assess lung endothelial receptors in vivo; proposed a hypothesis on why the spin-lattice relaxation time is different in normal and malignant tissue, also on why the relaxation times vary from organ to organ in individual species.
