Career

Began practice at Omaha, Nebraska, 1888. Chairman Democratic County Central Committee, Douglas County, Nebraska, 1892-1894. Assistant United State Attorneys for Nebraska, 1894-1907.

Special assistant to attorney general of the United States, 1907-1922.

Again special assistant to attorney general, March 31, since 1923. Successfully represented United States Government in cases arising from unlawful enclosure of public lands in Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado.

In prosecution of fraudulent sales of swamp lands in Florida. Fraudulent entry of coal lands in Alaska.

In case against Los Angeles Investment Company.

In Mabray foot and horse race swindling scheme. In case against Doctor Cook, alleged discoverer of the North Pole, on charge of fradudulent use of mails in sale of oil stocks. Attorney for International Harvester Company.
