Achievements

  • Achievements include research in Biochemical characterization of novel antimicrobial peptides from fungi (peptaibols) and from bacteria (bacteriocins, microcins). Research in solution structure by Nuclear magnetic resonance of novel types of antimicrobial peptides. Research in mechanisms of action of microcins and bacteriocins (siderophore peptides, lasso peptides).

    Research in characterization of environmental bacteria producing exocellular polymeric substances and of their potential for bioremediation. Demonstration of a "Trojan horse" mechanism developped by antimicrobial peptides from Enterobacteria.
