One of Natal delegates to Bloemfontein Customs Conference, 1903. Delegate to Johannesburg Railway Conference, 1905, and Maritzburg Customs Conference, 1900.
Treasurer in Smythe Ministry, 1906 and 1906. One of the Natal delegates to the National Convention in 1908 and 1909, which drafted the South African Constitution.
With other delegates proceeded to London in 1909 to afford information in connection with the Draft South Africa Acting to His (or Her) Majesty’s Ministers. Justice of the Peace.
