Tabitha was an assistant in Darius Kinsey's studio and did all his printing for about fifty years, beginning in 1896. She can be considered as much a part of the monumental work produced by Kinsey as he was himself.
Background
Tabitha May Pritts was born in Waverly Mills, Minnesota, the United States on May 24, 1875. She was the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Berg) Pritts. She and her five siblings came west with their parents, who homesteaded in Whatcom County, Washington.
Tabitha moved to Whatcom County in 1882 and had made her home in Seattle for 40 years prior to returning to Bellingham a year and a half ago.
Career
In 1896 Darius Kinsey, Tabitha's husband started a studio in Sedro-Wooley. Tabitha served as her husband's assistant, working in a dark room at home, processing negatives received from the field, and sending the finished photographic prints back to the logging sites.

In 1896, Tabitha married Darius Kinsey, a commercial photographer. They had two children, Dorothea and Darius, Jr.
