Career
After his playing career ended Latimer became a police officer with the Pennsylvania Railroad. In 1924 he was involved in a dispute with another police officer and shot him four times in the back. Latimer was found guilty of second degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
He was eventually pardoned in 1930 for his heroism during a prison riot.
