Director general of the Kanamoji Society. While working as a miner of the Kosaka Copper Mine and apprentice of the lacquerware factory, studied by himself. He led the postwar introduction of 'modern usage of Kana' and 'practical Kanji'. He advocates the general use of the Kana alphabet and elimination of the numerous Chinese characters.
