He completed SSC from Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School (Dhaka) and Higher School Certificate from Notre Dame College, Dhaka in 1998. He obtained Bachelor of Business Administration Marketing and Master of Business Administration Finance from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. He earned his second Master of Business Administration from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota in 2010.
Tahsan first learned singing at Shishu Academy and music at Chhayanat. Then he started his solo career in music Tahsan worked at Unilever Bangladesh Limited during 2003–2004.
Then he started teaching at Eastern University from April 2006 to June 2008.
He worked at Institute for Research in Marketing as a research assistant.
Tahsan was a member of the band Black from 2000 to 2005. In April 2010 he joined the faculty at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and since September 2013 he is a faculty member of BRAC University.
