He accompanied Emperor Godaigo when he returned from his exile on Oki Island in 1333. When Takauji Ashikaga rose in revolt against the emperor, he followed Prince Takana,ga and fought Taka- uji's forces at Takenoshita but was defeated. Emperor Godaigo made him marry a Court lady. Enamoured of this beautiful lady, Moronao Kono, a retainer of Taka¬uji, eventually killed Takasada. The incident is woven with the story on Naga- nori Asano in the Kabuki play, ChusMn- gura
