Takashi Masuda left Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts without graduating with the idea of becoming a painter but he changed his mind and began learning to dance under Masao Takata.
Takashi Masuda became a professional dancer in a revue. Later he was dance master for Shochiku's troupe in 1930 and then served Nichigeki Theater in like capacity in 1935 till he founded his own troupe, Masuda Dancing Troupe (1947). He was representative of his dance creation was "Flatterer," which he danced solo on the stage.
